About
"Shiofune Kannonji" is a temple of the Japanese Buddhism "Shingon sect Daigo
school".
Long ago, the Japanese mermaid legend “Yaobikuni” was said to be the founder of this Shiofune
Kannonji temple.
The main hall “Hondo Entuukaku” is a building from the Muromachi
period(1336~1568)(Important cultural property) and is still in use as an active building.
Share the
same space with people who lived hundreds of years ago and offer modern prayers. We must not forget that
people are always part of history.
In modern times, Shiofune Kannonji are called the "Temple of Flowers."
During
the Azalea Festival(during April), 20,000 azaleas bloom beautifully. (There is a charge during that
period.)
Numerous cultural assets that tell the story of history and beautiful flowers that
soothe the soul. We wish for people's happiness and pray Buddhist prayers.
